I really enjoyed making Angel. For some reason every aspect of creating this piece was simply fun. The photo shoot, deciding subject position, subject expression, scale to work in, technique to apply, and on-and-on.
I also pushed a technique I had been thinking of trying for several years and dabbled with back in 2010 with Nose Detail Garrett ’10. It’s a way of approaching the canvas in it’s blank state. An underlying concept to carry through, a mental reference point to keep grounding my decisions.
